Manager Training

Baseball Practice - Manager's Training Video from Newport Beach Little League (click on link for video)

How to run a 1 hour & 30 minute baseball practice via stations. Maximize reps and learning with an efficient station based practice. While you may not run practice exactly like this (as it depends on how many Assistant Coaches you have), it provides a great foundation on key drills to include in your practice.

Pitching Machine

Setting Up The Pitching Machine is a link to an instructional video on how to set up the pitching machine. Start at 1min 20sec into the video as we keep the legs on our units.

For Baseball, you would roll the machine like a wheelbarrow. Video helps show you how to lift machine and adjust the ball chute for proper pitch. The softball machine has a removable transport cart.

Fields 2/3/4/5 all have in ground power next to the pitching mound. If power doesn't turn on, then you would need to click the reset button on the switch box that is outside of the fence behind home plate.

Little Minors Baseball - the pitching machine speed will be set at 40 mph. Machine will be 46 feet away at the pitchers rubber.
Little Minors Softball - the pitching machine will be at approx. 30-35 feet at ~30-36 mph. (Pitches delivered should be as flat as possible with no arc above the batters head).
